- Description
- Andrew Jones is an apprentice bon viveur - he likes to learn about, and sample everything that tastes good. In this episode he explores the history of wine, water and Champagne. Accompanied by his young son Hugh (Huw?), he travels to France first, to explore the history of bottled water, and discovers which rivers it comes from, and its history, including the origins of the source from which the Romans used to collect water. He travels to Germany next, to discover the origins of Reisling wine, and speaks to an expert, Richard Muller, who explains its history. The last leg of the journey takes Jones to the Champagne region of France, to discover the secrets of the famous drink. Also speaking: Pierre Chevron-Breton(?), Karl Liebertrau(?), Elmer Bankmieller(?), Claude Devos(?), Anna Valechio(?).
