Series of clips (some archival) used for Dave Loyn’s programme on the atomic bombing of the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945 (40 years ago) entitled The Force of the Sun. Contributors include: Colonel Thomas Ferebee, bombardier; Ralph Clifton, former Japanese POW; Group Captain Leonard Cheshire, official British observer of the bombings; unidentified victims of the bomb; Kermit Beehan, bombardier; US President Harry S Truman; Admiral Louis Mountbatten. Not all speakers can be identified.
