Speaking in Cardiff, Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher attacks the Labour Party’s manifesto, saying that if the British people put their signature on it, it would be a suicide note for the country. Opposition leader Michael Foot criticises the Conservatives for posting shameless and degrading advertisements against him. Liberal leader David Steel, who is in alliance with the SDP led by Roy Jenkins, says he expects a good result in the elections even though opinion polls would appear to indicate otherwise.
