Chancellor Sir Geoffrey Howe has said there is no reason to expect inflation figures to go up this year. Labour leader Denis Healey is sceptical about the forecast, saying that there is no inflation in a graveyard. Conservative Employment Minister Norman Tebbit proclaims the new rate as good for everybody. Liberal leader David Steel reads out the prices of various food items to show how prices of essential commodities have increased. Shadow Chancellor Peter Shore maintains that any government willing to sacrifice jobs the way the Conservatives have done would achieve the same results. Female reporter not identified.
