Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher visits Conservative Party headquarters to rally party workers for the forthcoming general election. Industry Secretary Patrick Jenkin has said an economic recovery is still underway, but Shadow Chancellor Peter Shore disagrees and says that there appear to be no signs of an economic upturn. SDP leader Roy Jenkins claims that the Labour Party has devised an extreme policy which will mean that Labour cannot win the election.
