The Wonderful World of Walt Disney, a Bank Holiday special presented by Paul Hollingdale. With facts on and music from some of the films: Bare Necessities from The Jungle Book, sung by Philip Harris; The Sorceror’s Apprentice from Fantasia; Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins (in English, then in German); Unbirthday Song and Mad Hatter’s tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland with Ed Wynn, Kathryn Beaumont, Jerry Colonna. Also guest, comedy actor and voice of many animated film characters, Pat Buttrum on the characters he has played; includes excerpt from The Aristocats. Also looks at unique new film Tron with music and film excerpts and interviews with John Moseley(?), music producer and Michael Fremer, sound producer on the unusual sound and visual effects which make much use of computer graphics. Breaks in recording.
