Description

Tales of a City - a series on London. Part 5: Precipice in Time. A drama read from/based on Henry Mayhew’s 1851 book- 1851: or the Adventures of Mr and Mrs Sandboys and Family who came up to London to see the Great Exhibition. After the entire region has left for London to see the Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace in London, a reluctant Mr Sandboys takes his family from the rural town of Buttermere in Cumberland to the capital. Actors not identified. Short break in recording halfway through.
