This week’s Network programme, The Liquidators, from Radio Clyde in Glasgow, produced and presented by Colin Adams. Meets and investigates the insolvency practitioners, usually accountants, and looks at the law and their success beyond the balance sheet, concentrating on Scottish industries. Speaking are Bill Frindley(?), Gale company; Bill Monroe(?), Clydesdale bank; Mack(?) McPhail(?), a receiver as opposed to a liquidator - he explains the difference; Chartered Accountant Stuart(?) Fraser; Dr Nigel Savage, law lecturer, Strathclyde University; Bill McCrindle, entrepreneur; George Mathewson, Scottish Development Agency; Jim Gould, Chairman of employers organisation the CBI in Scotland; liquidator Robert C Smith, and Jimmy Reid, shop stewards spokesman, on Upper Clyde Shipbuilders going into receivership in 1971 with debts of 28 million pounds.
