Our Kind of Town. Christmas Special, Part 2. Presenter Greg Strange interviews more people working in the Grosvenor House Hotel kitchens. Dave West is chef number 33; he prepares a wide variety of food in hot and noisy surroundings. Peter Green was a vegetarian cook but later specialised in preparing fishes for cooking. Dick Elvis has been in the kitchens for 22 years. Michael Thais, Seller Operations Manager, looks after 75,000 pounds’ worth of wine. He talks about various kinds of wines and the importance of storing them in the right temperatures. Executive Chef Mark Streeter gives tips about Christmas food shopping and cooking, including recipes and the best way to prepare turkey. Produced by Bavin Cook.
