- Description
- Acid rain pollution is killing Europe’s forests and lakes. Decision Makers looks at the causes, and what can be done about it. Britain is under pressure to cut back on its pollution levels, but Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher is adamant more proof is needed that Britain is causing problems for the environment. Germany and Sweden are two of the worst affected countries; pollution affects their forests and lakes, and the agricultural market is in trouble, as forestry and fish stocks are in depletion. Speaking are: Environment Committee spokesman Hugh Rossi; Elizabeth Stam(?); David Alton MP; Frederick Last. Presented by Richard Bestic. Technical producer Heather Branwell.
