Description

Our Kind of Town, presented by Keith Howell. This episode focuses on London’s restaurants. Howell interviews Faye Maschler, the Evening Standard’s restaurant critic, who talks about her job. The programme also includes an interview with Peter Boizot, chairman and managing director of the Pizza Express restaurant chain, who enlisted the help of designer Enzo Apicella to design his second restaurant in the 1960s. Numerous top musicians including Eddie Thompson, Keith Ingham, Susannah McCorkle, Lenny Felix, Brian Lemon, Peter Skellern, Freddy Hunt and Buddy Rich have played at his London restaurants. He has also launched his own record label and the Pizza Express Jazz Festival.
