- Description
- The London Interview. Philip Bacon interviews Mother Angela, a contemplative nun at the Tyburn Convent of the Church of the Adorers of the Sacred Heart, London. The convent is just a hundred yards from Marble Arch, close to the site where the Roman Catholic martyrs of Tyburn were hanged. Mother Angela, originally from Hampshire, talks about her life of seclusion. She says the only time members of the community are able to chat is during a one-hour recreation period during the afternoon. The only news available to the nuns is via a weekly newspaper. Interview (in two parts, divided by short break in audio) ends with actuality of singing nuns. This episode of the London Interview is an LBC contribution to the Network series.
