Description

The London Interview. Rodney Bennett interviews actress and singer Jessie Matthews about her life and career. Matthews blames television for teaching young people how to commit crimes and says the prohibitive costs of putting on a production is killing theatre. She started her training as a ballet dancer but moved into theatre and stage musicals. Later in her career she played Mrs Dale in the BBC radio drama, Mrs Dale’s Diary. Interview in two parts, divided by short break in audio.
