Description
Monty At Large. Monty Modlyn presents a programme on the hat industry in Luton as it fights to survive. He speaks to factory owner Bill Horseman(?) and factory workers Eleanor Fossey(?) and Vera Romley(?) of Walter Wright hats. Modlyn also speaks to Peter Fischer of W. Fischer and Sons and Ron Bedworth(?) from a millinery shop, as well as John Boon(?) and Peter Lane, who make blocks for hats and export them across the world. Modlyn talks with driver Brian Davis(?), who delivers hats all over Britain. Programme produced by Bavin Cook. Sound in mono. Break in audio part way through clip.
