In this week’s edition Monty Modlyn visits the Sadler’s Wells Theatre and talks to D’Oyly Carte Opera company manager Peter Riley about the operas of Gilbert and Sullivan. Musical Director Fraser Goulding, and performers, Ken Sandford, James Conroy-Ward and Lorraine Daniels talk about performing the work. Music played includes: Three Little Maids from The Mikado; I am the Captain of the Pinafore and Ring the Merry Bells on Board Ship from HMS Pinafore; John Reed singing from Trial by Jury; The Private Buffoon from The Yeomen of the Guard; The Magnet and the Churn from Patience; and the Nightmare Song from Iolanthe.
