The UN Security Council is waiting for Iranian Foreign Minister, Abolhassan Banisadr to arrive in New York. It has been decided that the debate can go ahead without him, but the Ayatollah Khomeini has said he will not abide by the UN’s ruling. The White House is unhappy about Representative George Hansen’s private visit to Tehran to try and negotiate. The Shah is rumoured to be leaving the USA. The reporter is Andrew Manderstam.
