Description

Report on the sentencing of Andrew Alder, who shot dead both his parents at their home in Oving, West Sussex, on 07/06/81. Alder told police that his father, Lt Commander Gilbert Alder, 56, and his wife, Joan, 46, had been angry that he had failed his exams at Hatfield Polytechnic. After the murder he went to stay with his friend Duncan Goodhew, the Olympic gold medallist swimmer. Male reporter not identified.
