Report on the funeral of Sergeant Leslie Barker, one of the SAS soldiers involved in ending the Iranian Embassy siege. Barker was killed on a training exercise in Oman when his parachute failed to open. He was buried in Hereford alongside 17 of his colleagues. His widow Caroline put a red rose on her huband’s coffin. The ceremony was conducted by the Rural Dean of Hereford, The Reverend John Balch(?), who had also performed the couple’s wedding ceremony in the same church five years previously.
