Brian Hayes interviews Anthony Sampson, author of The Arms Bazaar, on Britain’s hypocrisy in showing an interest in disarmament whilst not exercising restraint in arms sales, the increase in trade to the Third World and other industrial countries, what is being sold and the profitability of sales. He expresses concern that salesmen are inciting countries to order weapons they do not need, at their circumvention of rules governing sales, and the diplomatic situation created by arming China as a threat to Russia.
