- Richard Littlejohn interviews writer and MP Jeffrey Archer, about his new novel Honour Among Thieves, set in the aftermath of the defeat of Iraq in the Gulf War in 1991, in which Saddam Hussein plans to steal the American Declaration of Independence and publicly burn it on the 4th of July. Also on his political career and the problems in the Conservative Party; and rail privatisation. Beginning of the interview has been clipped. He then interviews jazz singer Cleo Laine, after her acclaimed performance at Carnegie Hall in New York with Mel Torme and prior to performing in London at the Barbican. On her childhood and upbringing in Southall in West London and her Jamaican father, a street busker; friendship with Ella Fitzgerald; attitude to performing; relationship with husband and musician, Johnny Dankworth.
