Adrianos van Helfteren(?) reports on the Iranian election. It is expected that Abolhassan Banisadr will emerge as the country’s first president since the Islamic Revolution. Banisadr is already a respected economist and was a known Marxist sympathiser as a student although he is said to have little love for the Soviet Union.
