Description

Miriam Stoppard interviews Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in her programme, Woman to Woman. They discuss living life in the public eye, her upbringing and family, getting emotional about her father, Alfred Roberts, in the process. They talk about the role of religion in her life and her early political interest. Stoppard asks Thatcher about her husband and children, and the way in which she has balanced home and professional lives. Her international and local recognition and reputation, how being a woman actually allowed her to stand out, and women in politics are also discussed. Also, what she did in the aftermath of the Falklands crisis and how she is still thrilled to be Prime Minister. Includes commercial break.
