Description

Report on a deadlock in Israeli-Egyptian peace talks. A meeting has been held between Israeli Foreign Minister Moshe Dayan and Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Khalil. The Israeli Cabinet has been meeting to discuss peace proposals with Egypt. Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin faces opposition by Opposition leader Shimon Peres and members of his own party. It is likely that a meeting between US Secretary of State, Cyrus Vance and Israeli Defence Minister Ezer Weizman will firm up future negotiations between Begin, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and US President Jimmy Carter in the next few weeks.
