Description
Report on the opening of Frankland Prison in County Durham, 18 months ahead of schedule. The site is being guarded by 450 military personnel instead of prison officers. There are currently just 17 inmates although hundreds more are due to arrive in the coming days. Army spokesman Duncan Gregory says military police, infantrymen, RAF dog handlers and Naval medical staff are all involved in the operation. Durham Labour MP, Mark Hughes has inspected the prison.
