- Description
- Forces loyal to ousted president Nicolae CeauÅescu are reported to be surrendering in Timisoara, where Romania’s bloody revolution started more than a week ago. The move follows calls for a ceasefire made by the country’s interim government, The National Salvation Front, who have also pleaded with people outside the army to hand in their weapons by this afternoon. Reporter Gareth Furby is in Bucharest, where he describes sniper fire, and talks to Romanians who describe the fighting. For Talkback Breakfast.
