- Description
- Phil Coope(?) reports on a documentary that revealed conditions in psychiatric hospitals, including Borocourt near Reading. Broadcaster ATV has said it will amend some of the scenes in The Silent Minority following complaints by Berkshire Area Health Authority. Includes interview with area medical officer Dr Peter Dickson who says he supports the general aims of the documentary but is unhappy that film maker Nigel Evans did not get permission from the patients’ parents. In another interview, consultant psychiatrist Dr Shirley Abell shows the reporter a fenced compound outside one of the wards at Borocourt. Audio quality poor (crackling).
