Description
As many as four thousand people may have been killed in Romania since the weekend, when demonstrations began against the twenty-four -year-old regime of Nicolae Ceausescu. Gareth Furby reports from the Romanian/Hungarian border, with the accounts (made through an interpreter) of those who have managed to get out of Romania. British lorry driver Barry Wilcock also talks about his relief at leaving Timisoara. Clip includes a recording of an attack on demonstrators, made by an Austrian reporter and broadcast on Hungarian radio.
