Description
Hayes at the Weekend. Brian Hayes is joined first by Peter Newsam, the education officer of the Inner London Education Authority (ILEA), who discusses the subject of education; he believes standards of teaching are improving, as are security and good order in schools. Writer Allan Eckert joins Hayes next, to talk about his book, The HAB Theory, which focuses on the theory that every five and-a-half thousand years there will be a cataclysmic event on the planet due to the build-up of ice in the polar regions. The next guest is Milton Shulman of the Evening Standard; he discusses the subject of television and violence, and how the two are linked. Gloria Leonard joins Hayes to discuss the publication of her magazine, High Society, which she labels as dignified pornography. Don Quarry and Dick Quax, both Olympic champions, respond to qestions about human progression in athletics. Frankie Albano is a clairvoyant who claims to be able to offer a psychic view of personal problems.
