Health authorities are now officially saying that Britain is suffering from a flu epidemic, and are warning that thousands of elderly and chronically sick people are at risk. The number of people suffering from the virus has trebled in a single week, and children are especially vulnerable. Doctor Alexander McNair, from the Influenza Monitoring and Information Bureau, says thousands of very sick people who have not been vaccinated are likely to die from the virus this winter. And there is now no doubt that we are suffering an epidemic. Interviewer is Julie Sedgwick.
