Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher has said that there will be an announcement on the controversial subject of equal treatment for war widows before Christmas. The Government’s policy on pensions for pre-1973 war widows has been attacked by MPs from all parties in the Commons and was raised in the chamber during questions to the Prime Minister by Conservative MP , Ann Winterton.
