- First half of a Thames TV programme charting the history of the German SS. Ex SS soldiers describe tactics used to train them, methods used in concentration camps, why they joined the SS and the divide between the force and the regular German army. British soldiers describe the first contact with the SS, and the professionalism of the soldiers. Soldiers and doctors from Auschwitz are interviewed, and talk about the murders in the camp, in which some of them were involved. Includes reports from the time in German. 2 Commercial breaks. Ends abruptly. The narrator is Anthony Valentine. The producer/director is Anthony Mollo. The English voice of Richard Schultz-Kossins is John Mellor; the voice of the SS officer is George Mikell.
