- Description
- John Allen interviews the chairman of the Nature Conservancy Council, Sir William Wilkinson, following the publication of their annual report. This is likely to be their final report, following the decision of the former Environment Secretary, Nicholas Ridley, to split up Britain’s only official national body dedicated to the conservation of our environment. It is to be replaced by separate councils for England, Wales and Scotland, and Wilkinson claims that the breakup is due to the council being too effective in its opposition to Scottish Office proposals.
