The UN has set a deadline of 15th January for Saddam Hussein to withdraw from Kuwait. Lieutenant General Sir Peter de la Billiere, Commander of British Forces in the Middle East, says Saddam might decide not to wait for allied forces to act but to seize the military initiative himself.
