Description
Over 300 Britons have arrived back in the UK from Baghdad following the evacuation of Kuwait in anticipation of war in the Gulf. Architect John Sellers(?) says Iraqi soldiers were terrifyingly brutal. Bernice McDonald(?) speaks of an escape attempt across the desert. Stores manager Tom Laming(?) says Saddam Hussein and his soldiers would put Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves to shame and those Kuwaitis who helped Britons effectively signed their own death warrant. Company director Jim Ratcliffe, from Linlithgow, Edinburgh, says rumours of Iraq preparing to withdraw from Kuwait seem hard to believe. Stephanie West reports for LBC Newstalk Breakfast.
