In view of the decision by the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to raise oil prices, former Labour Prime Minister James Callaghan in the Commons asking if the Government intends to continue with Budget plans to increase the tax on petrol. Also urging the Government to proceed with caution over proposals for large-scale development of nuclear energy.
