Statement by British Rail general manager, Gordon Pettitt (read by public affairs manager, Peter Kendall) on claims that one of their own signalmen, Stephen Jackson, lied over the Clapham Junction train disaster. BR now admits there had been an earlier signal failure on the same line, as Jackson claimed.
