Description

Britain and Argentina get down to formal talks in Madrid today over the future of the Falkland Islands. The agenda will include trade, cultural and fishing issues but not sovereignty. Leading the British delegation is Lord Montgomery (David Montgomery, son of the Alamein hero). He says he’s optimistic that full diplomatic relations will be restored, but, he told Peter Deeley, it will be a gradual process.
