- Report on a new exhibition at the Imperial War Museum commemorating the incident involving the SS Politician which ran aground off Island of Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides on 5/2/41 leaving the cargo to be picked up by the local islanders; incident inspired Compton Mackenzie’s novel Whisky Galore (and the resulting Ealing film).
