Eve Conway reports on this morning’s runaway train drama at Staples Corner in North London. It’s was thought that vandals may have released the brakes of the two engines, which crashed down from a bridge on to the North Circular road, but that’s now been ruled out. Includes interviews with eyewitness Carlo Barbieri; Inspector Terence Bradley; Elaine Dennett from British Rail, says there will be a full inquiry.
