Supermarket chains, Tesco, Safeways, Asda, and Sainsbury’s have confirmed they will be opening on Sunday in the run up to Christmas. In the House of Commons, the Attorney General Sir Patrick Mayhew has said he has decided not to intervene on the question of stores opening on Sundays.
