Peter Murphy reports from Westminster on the controversial issue of Sunday trading in the UK. Supermarket chains, Tesco, Safeways, Asda, and Sainsbury’s have confirmed they will be opening on Sunday in the run up to Christmas. In the House of Commons, the Attorney General Sir Patrick Mayhew has said he has decided not to intervene on the question of stores opening on Sundays.
