- Around 60 policemen and custom officers have been involved in a dramatic drugs swoop at Anstey’s Cove in Torquay which netted cannabis worth five million pounds. Detective Superintendent Don Taylor(?) of the regional drugs squad says he is very happy with the success of the raid and Paul Uphill - Managing Director of Torquay’s Palace Hotel where the operation took place - describes how events unfolded.
