- The North Sea oil platform, Piper Alpha, which was sunk following an explosion which killed 167 men, has been raised from the sea bed. Grampian Police Chief Alistair Lynn says that they do not yet know how many bodies are aboard the platform. Barge superintendent for McDermott’s, Lash Gellery(?), speaks about the difficulties that they encountered when raising the sunken platform and project engineer Ramsay Martin(?) recounts a tale of survival.
