Description
James Matthews interviews Carlton Miniott guest-house landlady, Doreen Corner, about her meeting with a murder suspect known as David Kerr. The telephone interview follows the murders of 88 year-old Jack Shuttleworth, in Ingleton, North Yorkshire, and 55 year-old Margaret McOnie, a widow whose body was found on moors near Tongue, Sutherland. The search for the murderer is being concentrated in Lancashire, after he was spotted in the seaside resort of Morecambe. (The suspect, who used many aliases but mainly David Kerr, was later named as Brian Newcombe, aged 51, a motor mechanic from the Nottingham area. He committed suicide while awaiting trial on 13/11/89).
