- Description
- Interview with John Surman, Marconi, on the first electronic tagging system in the UK. The first offenders will be tagged in Nottingham. Borderline remand prisoners, who otherwise would go to prison while awaiting trial, could be freed if they agree to wear special ankle bracelets which transmit their whereabouts to a control centre. Offenders will have curfews imposed and the electronic gadgetry will let officials know if anyone is breaking their bail conditions. Broadcast on Radio Trent. Male interviewer not identified.
