Interview with Environment Minister Michael Howard, on likely customer water price rises following privatisation of the industry in 1989. The Government today limited the companies to a maximum average increase of 5 percent above inflation. But at the current inflation rate that could mean a 13 percent increase. The water companies wanted bigger rises to pay for anti-pollution measures. Howard says the price rises are a good deal for the customer. Male interviewer not identified.
