- Description
- A senior Conservative MP who has defected to Labour is coming under pressure to resign his seat. Former minister Alan Howarth has said he’s switching sides because the Conservatives are arrogant and only his new party are committed to helping schools and the jobless. But he won’t call a by-election in his consituency of Stratford-on-Avon in Warwickshire. Local Tory councillor Peggy Joslin thinks his move to Labour was quite wrong.
