- Michael Parkinson interviews on his show comedian and writer, Spike Milligan, following the publication of his latest volume of autobiography, entitled Peace Work, which deals with his demobbing from the army at the end of the Second World War. He speaks about travelling around Britain as a jazz musician in post-war Britain and the first meeting of the comedy group that became The Goons. Milligan sounds ill during the interview and he talks about suffering from manic depression and medication he has been prescribed.
