Speech by Labour Party NEC member Clare Short at the party conference on the row over the de-selection of Islington councillor and would-be MP Liz Davies. Delegates from North London and Leeds North East who hoped to adopt her as their candidate objected to the way she was dismissed, but the party conference voted overwhelmingly to ratify the decision by the party’s National Executive to drop her.
