- Margaret Shiels interviews solicitor David Burgess about a High Court decision ordering the UK Government to allow 5 asylum-seeking Sri Lankan Tamils who were deported from the UK to return. The judges held that Home Secretary Douglas Hurd had no right to appeal against an adjudicators decision the five should be allowed back into the country. Hurd has 24 hours in which to appeal. The five Tamils are: Saravamuthu Sivakumaran, Navaratnasingam Vathanan, Vythialingam Skandarajah, Nadarajah Vilarajah, and Vinasithamby Rasalingam.
