Description
Brian Jenkins reports from Victoria Station on the 150th anniversary of the opening of the London to Brighton railway line. He talks to actress Dora Bryan, who misses travelling on the Brighton Belle luxury Pullman service, and tells how she used to frequent the line. Jenkins takes a tour of the train and points out the splendours of the first class service. A steward describes his employment on the train, and ex-steward Betty Belle describes an accident with a bowl of soup. Peter Hanbridge, a retired guard on the train, describes the differences in service between the old days and nowadays. On the Steve Jones Breakfast Show.
